Japanese financial services giant SBI Holdings plans to acquire a majority stake in Coinhako, one of Singapore's oldest digital asset platforms. The deal, announced on February 13, 2026, involves SBI Ventures Asset Pte. Ltd. providing investment capital and acquiring shares from existing shareholders. Upon completion, Coinhako will become a consolidated subsidiary of SBI Holdings.

The acquisition is a strategic MOVE to combine Coinhako's operational expertise with SBI's financial resources, aiming to create a next-generation digital asset powerhouse in Asia. Coinhako operates under licenses from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and is regulated in the British Virgin Islands.

Yoshitaka Kitao, Chairman of SBI Holdings, highlighted the deal as a step toward expanding a global corridor for digital assets, including tokenized stocks and stablecoins. For Coinhako, the partnership offers a pathway to scale its institutional-grade infrastructure.
